Standard of Glass Products – Float Glass

The revision of this standard is based on the original National Standard – GB 11614-1989 of “Float Glass”.

GB 11614-1989 of “Float Glass” has three grades to the glass: excellent, good and eligible. According to different usage of float glass, this standard is divided into mirror grade, automobile grade and architecture grade when revising, and the quality standard is also made according to different usage, so that customers have more choices.

This standard will replace GB 11614-1989 since the day of implement.

This standard was presented by the National Architecture Material Industry Bureau.

Drafting units are: National Architecture Material Industry Bureau Standardization Institute, National Architecture Material Industry Bureau Qinhuangdao Glass Research and Design Institue.

This standard prescribes the sort, requiremwnts, inspection method, inspection rules, marks, package, transporting and storage of achromatous translucent float glass.

This standard is suitable for producing float glass for mirror, architecture and automobile.

The items included in the below standard becomes the items of this standard by referring in this standard. All the editions are valid when this standard publishes. All the standards will be revised. Every party using this standard should discuss the possbility of the latest edition when using the following standards.

•  Acording to the usage, float glass an be sorted as mirror grade, automobile grade and architecture grade.

•  According to thickness, float glass can be sorted as following:

2mm , 3mm , 4mm , 5mm , 6mm , 8mm , 10mm , 12mm , 15mm , 19mm .
